Before you set off
Choose an outing that matches what you can and want to do today. Read the group’s details, explain your expectations once admitted and keep the freedom to adjust what comes next. This guide helps organise a meeting; it is not a training programme.
Start with what you feel like doing now.
Walking, running or returning to a trail: first choose an activity you feel drawn to. An accessible location and a time you can manage are concrete criteria. You do not have to immediately return to your previous distance or pace.
Compare the proposal with your current experience: expected duration, terrain, distance and pace. The group provides a setting to share an outing, not an obligation to follow everything. A first meeting is a choice, without a commitment to return every week.
Say what helps you feel comfortable joining.
In Foulevo, explore sessions and request to join a suitable outing. Once admitted, the conversation lets you say “I am getting back into it and looking for this sort of pace”. Check the plan and how the group will stay together before setting off.
Would you rather suggest your own outing? Choose a familiar route and clearly describe the mood, pace and expected duration. The invitation can be simple. Avoid promising flexibility that you could not actually provide on the day.
Build a habit that works for you.
After the outing, think about what you would like again: the same group, a different time or another route. You can follow people you met or discover their sessions that are visible to you. A group can also help you find regular meetings.
Everyone chooses how often to participate. A weekly session in Foulevo has separate registrations for each date. Returning is an option, not a debt to the group. Progress can have its place; connections and shared enjoyment remain at the centre.
